Environmental Considerations
NZPSHA is committed to reducing the impact of our conferences on the environment. To this end we have engaged the following protocols :
Fly with Air New Zealand
Take the opportunity to offset your carbon footprint and fly with Air New Zealand. FlyNeutral supports New Zealand travellers to offset the carbon emissions associated with their Air New Zealand flights. See here for more information about FlyNeutral.
Recycling & Conservation
Our venue endorses sustainable practices for the good of the environment. Recycling stations are located throughout. Assistance with recycling and conservation of power and water is appreciated.
Catering
We are working with our venue to minimise food waste plus we will be offering a great variety of delicious selections for our lunches throughout the conference, along with a good number of vegetarian options. Please ensure you bring along a refillable water bottle so we minimise the usage of disposable plastic cups.
Delegate Handouts
We will NOT be supplying plastic name badges, rather we will print your name directly onto a recyclable paper. Please feel free to hand in your lanyard for recycling at the end of the conference. We won't be offering delegate satchels/bags this year so if you need a bag please feel free to bring one along with you.
Printed Material
We endeavour to minimise printing in general and will provide as much electronic information as possible, via email and the conference mobile app.
Sponsors and Exhibitors
We are working with our supporters to ensure the environmental message is passed along. Sponsors and exhibitors will be asked to ensure they reduce their waste and environmental impact by providing appropriate information about themselves and their services in electronic format.
Any ideas as to how we can reduce our impact on the environment are welcome!
