Working at the coalface of the Boxing Day Tsunami in Thailand with the Thai Forensic Team to being a Project Manager for NZ Government post Tsunami overseeing several restoration programs really gave me an increasing hunger and passion to make a difference in the emergency management field by empowering our communities through enhancing their resilience for such events.
 
From there I moved and lived in Laos for several years establishing an emergency care programme for medical staff throughout many regions across Laos. Empowering the Laotian medical staff through training was so invigorating but also empowered the staff through that training to help reduce fatalities. 

On returning to NZ I took up the position of Emergency Manager for the Canterbury & West Coast DHB’s managing Ebola, leading the health response for the Kaikoura Earthquake, Port Hills fire, adverse weather events, etc.
 
Early 2019 I left the DHB to establish Triage Management Systems to continue to share my knowledge and passion -enhancing resilience within our communities. I had the privilege at the beginning of the pandemic to establish and run the NMDHB CBAC for the first month of its operation.
 
I now juggle both the business and work full time at Toka Tū Ake EQC as a SME in emergency management and business continuity.

It is the agreed all of Government training system for incident management within NZ.
